Resumen The development of constructive web-based collaboration and learning applications involves professionals of several disciplines that have different work styles. There are methodologies that describe the organization of the development group’s roles as well as the interaction among them; but these methodologies do not sufficiently consider that group members are building knowledge in a social way. This work presents a new methodology (DELFOS-Scaffolding) based on social constructivism and its evaluation. This methodology has been used by five classroom-technology development groups. Each group consists of professors and technology developers who received scaffolding consisting of three elements: a model that explains the bases of the social construction knowledge; a language among the participant roles; and a set of phases for the CSCL applications development. The results show that there is a significant similarity between the software development process and the social construction of knowledge.
